Meet the Staff of Maritime Academy!

Jamie Vickers


Mrs. Vickers has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Education from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Educational Leadership from Florida State University. Mrs. Vickers has dedicated her professional education career to creating a learning environment for students to achieve their full academic capability. She was recognized at the Florida Capital by Lady Ann Scott, Governor Rick Scott's wife, for being a Community Person of Interest. Mrs. Vickers was recognized as the 2012 Assistant Principal of the year in Bay County, and most recently, she received Best and Brightest Principal recognition in 2018. Mrs. Vickers served as a K-8 School Principal at a charter school before accepting the position as the first Principal at Maritime Academy. Mrs. Vickers' love of STEM academics has been a primary reason she chose to lead this innovative and cutting-edge High School. There's no better place to be than Maritime Academy!  

Jaime Dahlin

Assistant Principal

Mrs. Dahlin has a Bachelor’s in Health Science with a minor in Sociology from the University of Florida. She also completed postgraduate studies at the Educator Preparation Institute at Gulf Coast State College. She holds a Florida teaching certification in science and a national certificate for STEM teaching.  She is also a ropes course facilitator, American Red Cross Instructor, and PADI Divemaster. She has worked in education for 15 years and believes everyone should be a lifelong learner. Working at Maritime Academy allows her the opportunity to share her passion for science, the water, and the environment with the students.

BJ Morris


Supreme Master of the Challenge Course

Mr. BJ Morris is a teacher at AmiKids. He has been with the company for over 13 years. During that time, Mr. BJ has had the ability to work with children from all walks of life. He enjoys teaching, motivating his students, helping them overcome daily challenges, and inspiring them to never give up.  He believes that children must have their basic needs met to support learning, self-esteem, and personal growth. Mr. BJ is excited to begin teaching the newly offered, Construction certification class at Maritime Academy.

January Sellers

Teacher - English / Literature

Mrs. Sellers has a Bachelors of Education from the University of Alaska in Anchorage, with double minors in English and Humanities. As a military family with multiple moves over the years, Mrs. Sellers has taught, substituted, and volunteered at various schools all over the country. She feels that every child learns in a different way, and enjoys employing a verity of teaching methods in her classroom so that all can be successful. Mrs. Sellers believes that Maritime Academy has the perfect balance for every student. She is thrilled to be a part of Maritime Academy’s first year and cannot wait to see what the future holds.

Chelsea House

Business Manager

Mrs. House has four years of finance experience and four years in Early Childhood Education. She has been the manager of Early Childhood Learning Centers as well as being a classroom teacher. Mrs. House is actively involved with youth programs where she has coached ball teams and, lead youth groups. Her passion is encouraging youth to express themselves through music by teaching them to play instruments and helping them overcome the fear of stage fright. Her approach to teaching children is for them to learn in creative ways that meet their individual needs. Mrs. House believes that our youth are our future, and she cannot imagine doing anything better for a career than to nourish student growth, and shape them for the future. Whether she is the first face they see in the mornings, teaching in a classroom, coaching on the ball field, or conducting on stage, she enjoys being a part of our students’ development. Mrs. House is excited that Maritime Academy gives our students the opportunity to be creative!
